The Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) X95 is appoved for non-restricted status in Canada! The new Tavor X95 is the next generation bullpup from IWI US, Inc. and it brings the Israeli made bullpup family further into modern rifle ergonomics.
While we were well ahead of our neighbours to the south in the US in getting the original production Tavor, US citizens have already been enjoying this rifle for a year now. The Tavor and the X95 have been well received in both Canada and the US alike, and have almost single handedly revived sales and interest of bullpup rifles from beyond enthusiast status and into the mainstream.
Upgrades and enhancements from the original Tavor SAR include a new fire control pack with a 5-6 lb. trigger pull, repositioning of the ambidextrous mag release to an AR-15 location, a forearm with Picatinny rails at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions with removable rail covers, relocation of the charging handle closer to your centre mass, a modular Tavor style pistol grip that can be swapped out to a standard pistol grip with traditional trigger guard and a smaller, lower profile bolt release button.
Best of all, the X95 is available, from the factory in a non-restricted configuration. Estimated time of arrival in Canada is late January 2017! The estimated price of the X95 is $2600 Canadian dollars, putting it right in line with a similar price to the original Tavor.
