This is our in depth review of the FAMAE SG 542-1 semi auto 7.62x51 NATO battle rifle. The SG 542-1 was originally developed by Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft (SIG, currently SAN Swiss Arms AG) and the FAMAE SG 542-1 is a licensed copy of the original design made in Chile. The SG 542 is well regarded and known as one of the most reliable battle rifles and is still in service with multiple forces around the world.
